    RPL Kit

    Local Plugin
    v0.3.0
    Beta

ASQA-mapped Recognition of Prior Learning evidence-instrument builders for Moodle. Three output builders produce theory quiz questions, a practical observation checklist, and assignment benchmarks criteria from supplied unit data — each carrying explicit ASQA rules-of-evidence mapping. The live training.gov.au unit-fetch and one-click generator UI are not yet available; they will arrive once the training.gov.au integration is connected.

⭐ Why this plugin is unlike anything else available

Three implemented, ASQA-mapped RPL evidence-instrument builders — the one-click, live-unit generator UI is planned for a future release

▸ Existing approaches to RPL evidence use generic templates, manual mapping, or Word documents that require extensive editing. RPL Kit provides builders for unit-specific, ASQA-mapped instruments. The live training.gov.au unit-fetch and full generator UI are still being connected — unit data is supplied directly in the meantime.

▸ Each output carries explicit rules-of-evidence justification — valid (maps to specific elements), sufficient (covers all required elements), authentic (uses witness/third-party declaration format), and current (designed to reflect the current unit version once the training.gov.au integration is connected).

▸ The outputs are native Moodle formats — quiz questions import directly into Moodle Quiz, SmartForm JSON pastes into SmartForm, and Assignment Benchmarks criteria deploy into the Assignment activity. No intermediate conversion, no third-party tool.

    Evidence Instrument Builders

Builders produce unit-specific evidence instruments from supplied unit data — not generic templates. The live training.gov.au unit-fetch and generator UI are not yet available.

    Three Evidence Outputs

Theory quiz (Knowledge Evidence), SmartForm observation checklist (Performance Criteria), and Assignment Benchmarks criteria — three output builders, all implemented.

    ASQA Rules of Evidence

Each output is designed to carry explicit valid, sufficient, authentic, and current mapping to support ASQA audit review.

    Three Evidence Outputs

RPL Kit provides three distinct evidence-instrument builders, covering both theory and practical assessment. Outputs are produced from directly-supplied unit data; the live single-unit-code generator UI is not yet available.

    1

    Theory Evidence — Moodle Quiz

    Complete

Builder produces Moodle essay-question XML with model answers and marking guides mapped to the unit's Knowledge Evidence. Import into a Moodle quiz and mark with AI Grader under assessor oversight. (Unit data is supplied directly — the live training.gov.au fetch is not yet connected.)

    Maps to: Knowledge Evidence

    2

Practical Forms Evidence — SmartForm JSON

    Complete

Builder produces a SmartForm JSON observation/third-party checklist mapped to the unit's Performance Criteria. Paste into SmartForm to create a digital observation checklist for workplace-based assessment.

    Maps to: Performance Criteria

    3

Practical Skill Demonstration — Assignment Benchmarks

    Complete

Builder produces Assignment Benchmarks advanced-grading criteria JSON (skills → sub-skills → scores) mapped to Performance Criteria and Performance Evidence. Requires gradingform_benchmarks installed and an assignment configured with the Benchmarks advanced-grading method.

Maps to: Performance Criteria + Performance Evidence

    ASQA Rules of Evidence Mapping

Each output is designed to satisfy all four ASQA rules of evidence. The mapping is explicit in the builder output — not an assumption or afterthought.

    Valid

Each evidence output maps explicitly to a specific Knowledge Evidence or Performance Criteria element from the unit — the mapping is shown in the generated output.

    Sufficient

The theory quiz covers all Knowledge Evidence elements; the observation checklist covers all Performance Criteria — ensuring complete coverage for a full RPL determination.

    Authentic

The observation checklist uses a third-party/manager sign-off format with a witness declaration — confirming the evidence is the candidate's own work.

    Current

Outputs are designed to reflect the current unit version — once the training.gov.au unit-fetch integration is connected they will always track the live unit, rather than an outdated template.

    AI RTO Compliance Integration

When AI RTO Compliance (local_rtocompliance) is installed on the same Moodle site, RPL Kit uses its shared RTO and qualification data — TOID, registered qualifications, and student records — eliminating double data entry.

Shared RTO profile (TOID, site name, contact details) pre-fills RPL documentation headers
Qualification and unit data from RTO Compliance is designed to populate the RPL kit builders automatically
Soft dependency — RPL Kit works standalone without RTO Compliance installed

    Installation

    1

    Download the plugin

Click the Download button above to get the latest ZIP file.

    2

    Install in Moodle

Go to Site administration → Plugins → Install plugins. Upload the ZIP and follow the on-screen wizard.

    3

    Open RPL Kit

Navigate to Site administration → Local plugins → RPL Kit (or use the AI Dashboard Quick Links block).

    4

    Supply the unit data

Provide the unit of competency data (e.g. BSBWHS411) directly. The live training.gov.au unit-fetch and one-click generator UI are not yet available — they will arrive once the training.gov.au integration is connected.

    5

    Use the output builders

The three evidence-output builders are implemented and produce their outputs from the supplied unit data: theory quiz XML (output #1), SmartForm observation checklist JSON (output #2), and Assignment Benchmarks criteria JSON (output #3).

    6

    Import and deploy

Import the quiz questions into Moodle, paste the SmartForm JSON into SmartForm, and create the assignment with the benchmarks criteria.

Where to find it after installation

Admin panel: Site administration → Local plugins → RPL Kit

Quick Links: RPL Kit appears in the AI Dashboard Quick Links block when installed

Platform compatibility: See the archive-bound Requirements for this release.

Soft dependency: local_rtocompliance (optional — for shared RTO data)
