    What it does

Slide Flow turns any product brochure, compliance document, or training PDF into a 6-slide interactive activity in Moodle. Teachers upload the PDF once, click Generate, and AI reads the document and creates structured slides. Students then navigate through the slides inside Moodle — no external apps, no SCORM packaging.

    Upload any PDF
Product catalogues, compliance docs, safety data sheets, procedure manuals
    AI generates 6 slides
Each slide has a title, key content, and a visual focus area extracted from the document
    Students navigate slides
Left/right navigation, progress indicator, completion tracking via Moodle activity completion
    Optional AI voiceover
Add narration to any or all slides — 17 language options, 8 AI voices
    Video & image slides
Replace any AI-generated slide with a YouTube video or uploaded image. Video slides can require students to watch the full video before advancing.

    Setting up the activity

    1
Add the activity to a course
Turn editing on → Add an activity → choose Slide Flow from the activity list.
    2
    Name the activity
Give it a descriptive name like 'XYZ Safety Boots — Product Training' so staff know what it covers.
    3
    Choose voiceover settings (optional)
Set Enable voiceover to Yes if you want AI narration. Choose a language and voice. If voiceover is on, you can also tick Require voiceover before advancing to gate slide navigation behind audio completion.
    4
    Save the activity
Click Save and display. The activity opens showing an empty slide viewer with a Generate Slides button.
    5
    Upload your PDF and generate
Click Generate Slides, upload your product PDF, and confirm. AI reads the document and creates 6 slides. This costs 10 credits.
    6
    Add voiceover if enabled
If voiceover is on, a Narrate button appears on each slide. Click it to generate AI narration for that slide (3 credits per slide). You can narrate some slides and not others.
    7
    Publish to students
Once happy with the slides, the activity is immediately available to students enrolled in the course. Students view for free.

    Ledagentle, female

The voice and language are set at the activity level — all slides in one activity share the same voice. Different activities in the same course can use different voices.

    Video & image slides

Teachers can replace any AI-generated slide with a YouTube video or an uploaded image. These custom slides are added or replaced directly in the builder view — no regeneration required.

    Adding a video slide

    1. Open the activity in Moodle (builder view) and navigate to the slide you want to replace.
    2. Click Video Slide in the Add a slide panel.
    3. Paste a YouTube URL (watch, short, or embed format — all accepted).
    4. Optionally set a slide title.
    5. Tick Must watch whole video if students must finish the video before they can advance.
    6. Click Add Video Slide.

    Must watch whole video

When this toggle is enabled on a video slide, the Next button is disabled and a banner reading "Watch the full video to continue" appears below the video. The Next button unlocks automatically the moment the YouTube video reaches its end — no manual action required from the student.

    • Works independently of the activity-level voiceover gating setting
    • Students can rewind and rewatch freely — only the first full completion unlocks the button
    • Builder preview mode is never gated — teachers can skip through freely
    • Requires the YouTube video to be embeddable (standard public YouTube videos work; some channel-restricted videos may not)

    Adding an image slide

Click Image Slide in the Add a slide panel, choose a file (PNG, JPG, WebP), and it uploads immediately. The image fills the slide frame with no cropping — use a landscape image for best results.

    Student experience

    • Viewing: Students open the activity and see Slide 1 of 6. They navigate using Previous / Next buttons.
    • Voiceover: If enabled, a play button appears on each slide. Students tap to listen. Replays are free — no credits charged.
    • Gated navigation: If the teacher enabled Require voiceover before advancing, the Next button is locked until the student plays the voiceover for the current slide. On video slides with Must watch enabled, the Next button stays locked until the YouTube video finishes — regardless of the voiceover setting.
    • Completion: Activity completion is recorded when the student reaches the last slide. Integrates with Moodle's standard completion tracking and course progress.
    • Cost to students: Zero. No credits are deducted during student viewing or replaying.

    Regenerating slides

Teachers can regenerate slides at any time — for example when a product is updated or a new version of the PDF is available. Each regeneration costs 10 credits and replaces the existing 6 slides entirely.

    • Old slides and voiceovers are replaced — students will see the new slides immediately
    • Voiceovers from the old version are not automatically regenerated — narrate each new slide separately if needed (3 credits per slide)
    • Student completion records are not reset by a regeneration

    Credit FAQ

    When exactly are credits charged?
Credits are deducted the moment you click Generate Slides (10 credits) or Narrate on an individual slide (3 credits). If AI generation fails, credits are refunded automatically.
    Are credits charged per student?
No. Credits are only charged when a teacher generates or regenerates slides and adds voiceovers. Students viewing and replaying the activity never consume credits.
What if I only want voiceover on some slides?
Voiceover is per-slide. You can narrate 2 slides (6 credits) and leave the other 4 silent. Each Narrate button works independently.
Can I change the voice after narrating?
The voice is set at activity level. To change it, edit the activity settings and select a new voice, then re-narrate each slide. Each narration costs 3 credits.
What is the maximum possible credit cost?
10 credits (slides) + 18 credits (all 6 slides narrated) = 28 credits = $2.80 USD. This is the absolute worst case — most activities cost between $1.00 and $2.80 USD total.
