    Release & access

Ready when the release is verified.

One-time plugin access: 50 Credits ($5 USD) on LMS Labs, or US$5 on Moodle Marketplace, subject to release availability.

    Acquisition currently unavailable

    Checking release metadata

Access stays closed while the release manifest loads.

Moodle compatibility: awaiting verified release-bound metadata.

A catalogue listing is not a promoted release. The live manifest controls purchase, unlock and download. Operation charges are separate from one-time access; see the guide below.

    01 / Orientation

    Put useful phrases within reach.

For teachers preparing language practice around concrete phrases in everyday situations.
    For the educator

Choose a real-life situation and language variety, review AI-drafted lesson text, then voice selected phrases separately.

    For the learner

Study the phrase, practise matching it to a scene and take a graded check.

    02 / The teaching workflow

    From setup to learning

A starting path for teachers. Review learner-facing material before using it in class.

    1. 01

      Plan a lesson

Choose the language context and prepare the material learners should work through.

    2. 02

      Draft and review text

Request an AI lesson text draft in Moodle and review it for accuracy, level and cultural context before using it in the lesson.

    3. 03

      Voice selected phrases

Request teacher-initiated phrase speech synthesis separately when hearing a phrase helps learners practise. You can also use teacher recordings or browser voice where available.

    03 / Field notes

Build a moment learners can use

    Note 01

    The lesson plan

Choose the taught language and region, situations, learners' language and level to ground the material in a useful context.

    Note 02

    Review the draft

Generate a lesson text draft through LMS Labs in Moodle, inspect and edit the material, and place phrases in context. The copy-and-paste prompt remains another authoring path.

    Note 03

    Voice is a separate choice

A teacher can request a phrase MP3 through the dedicated speech route. A generated lesson draft does not include speech or an image.

    Note 04

    Three learning stages

Study presents phrases in context; Practice includes matching and speaking where supported; Test checks matching, listening and speaking with server-side marking.

    04 / Capabilities

    What the activity brings

    01 / Capability

    Lesson text drafts

The dedicated LMS Labs lesson route returns a draft for the teacher to review; drafting does not automatically include audio or imagery.

    02 / Capability

    Phrase-level voice

A teacher can generate an MP3 for a selected phrase as a distinct LMS Labs operation. Slow listening reuses that audio at no extra generation cost.

    03 / Capability

    Traffic-light progress

The supplied 1.3.1 release adds red, amber and green mastery bars on the activity and reports. Teachers can adjust the thresholds; defaults are amber from 40% and green from 70%.

    04 / Capability

    Speech boundary

Paid LMS Labs speech-to-text for learner practice remains unavailable. Browser recognition checks recognised words where supported, not pronunciation; a listen-back self-check is a fallback.

    05 / Cost & limits

    Know what is separate

    Operation credits

Lesson drafts and imported scenes cost 5 credits (US$0.50) each. Paid teacher-initiated phrase speech costs 2 credits (US$0.20) per generated and settled clip. The clip-reference integration allows 10 free re-makes per clip in a rolling 30-day window after its first paid generation; over-limit re-makes cost 2 credits, shown before confirmation. This needs a matching Moodle update and server publication; requests without a clip reference cost 2 credits each. Previously completed charges stay unchanged. A lost response can still have a completed charge. Text does not include audio. Paid LMS Labs STT/practice and image generation remain unavailable. One-time plugin access is separate.

Important boundary. The draft and phrase MP3 are distinct paid operations. Paid learner speech recognition and image generation are not available in v1.0.3; browser recognition is not a pronunciation assessor.

    06 / Administration

    Installation

Installation is an administrator action. Do not use a candidate attachment as a substitute for a verified release.

    1. 01

      Obtain the release

Once a promoted release is available, complete the required access verification and obtain the verified ZIP from LMS Labs.

    2. 02

      Install in Moodle

As a site administrator, go to Site administration → Plugins → Install plugins, upload the ZIP and follow Moodle’s validation and upgrade prompts.

    3. 03

      Add to a course

Enable editing in a course and add AI Language Teacher as an activity. Configure it before opening it to learners.

    Plugin location: /mod/ailanguageteacher/

    07 / Answers

    Frequently asked questions

    Does this assess learner pronunciation?

Not as a pronunciation score. Paid LMS Labs STT is unavailable. Where enabled and supported, browser speech recognition checks recognised words; the browser vendor may process audio.

Do I get audio with each lesson draft?

No. Teacher-initiated phrase MP3 synthesis is a separate 2-credit operation per successfully generated and settled paid clip, with ten eligible free re-makes per tracked clip in a rolling 30 days. Closing the page does not cancel a completed charge.

    What changed for database-read errors?

The release report identifies a missing stored-requests table after older 1.1.0 upgrades. Version 1.3.0 added the repair; supplied 1.3.1 adds regression tests for creating that table and preserving older request keys and voices. This is not a claim that every database error has the same cause.

What does an expired voice result mean?

It means the request can no longer return audio, not proof of a charge. The message now includes the LMS Labs reference: keep it and contact support before generating again.

Can a learner work without a microphone?

Yes for studying, matching and listening; speaking activities need a microphone or the documented self-check path.
