Give every pause a purpose.
Bring a YouTube link and transcript, set the interaction count and allowed types, then review the generated pauses.
Watch and respond to questions at points along the video; resume an attempt where you left off.
From setup to learning
A starting path for teachers. Review learner-facing material before using it in class.
- 01
Provide the source
Start with a YouTube video and a transcript. Timestamped formats position pauses precisely; plain text is also accepted with timing spread across the video.
- 02
Create interactions
Choose the number and allowed types of activities; generate from the transcript, then review and edit before learners see them.
- 03
Teach with the results
Learners encounter questions during playback; review attempts and reporting in Moodle.
From transcript to interaction
Prepare the transcript
The documented workflow accepts a copied YouTube transcript, SRT, WebVTT, bracketed timestamps or plain text. Keep the source text accurate before generating.
Control the journey
Choose the number of interactions and their allowed types. The activity places questions at sections where the transcript topic changes.
After generation
Edit the created interactions before publishing. Optional no-skip playback prevents moving ahead to unwatched parts; attempts can resume.
What the activity brings
Eight question types
A range of interactive question formats makes the activity more than a single repeated quiz pattern.
Timeline-aware prompts
Timestamps connect questions to the parts of the video they address when present.
Teacher review
Generated interactions can be edited; playback and learner attempts do not require a new generation.
Know what is separate
Operation credits
The v1.0.9 release documents 100 credits per AI creation or re-creation. Editing, playback and learner attempts do not incur that generation tariff. One-time acquisition is separate from operation credits.
Important boundary. The embedded video depends on access to YouTube. The transcript and activity settings are sent to LMS Labs for generation.
Installation
Installation is an administrator action. Do not use a candidate attachment as a substitute for a verified release.
- 01
Obtain the release
Once a promoted release is available, complete the required access verification and obtain the verified ZIP from LMS Labs.
- 02
Install in Moodle
As a site administrator, go to Site administration → Plugins → Install plugins, upload the ZIP and follow Moodle’s validation and upgrade prompts.
- 03
Add to a course
Enable editing in a course and add AI Interactive Video as an activity. Configure it before opening it to learners.
Plugin location: /mod/aiinteractivevideo/
Frequently asked questions
Can I use a local video file?
The documented creation workflow uses a YouTube URL and a transcript; do not assume local-file generation is supported.
Are learner attempts charged?
No. The documented 100-credit tariff applies to AI creation or re-creation, not editing, playback or attempts.
Must the transcript contain timestamps?
No. Plain text is also accepted, spreading timing across the video; timestamps give more precise placement.
